Conduct Guidelines

Last updated: August 20, 2026

These Professional Conduct Guidelines (“Guidelines”) explain the standards of conduct expected of everyone using Levelge, and how we enforce them. They supplement, and are incorporated into, the Levelge Terms of Use — in particular Section 6 (Professional Conduct) — and apply to individual profiles, organization pages, discussion groups, messages, and any other activity on the Platform.

Levelge is currently offered as a free, early-stage beta. Our moderation tools and processes are still being developed and may change as the Platform matures.

1. Our Purpose

Levelge exists to help game industry professionals build real relationships — to get hired, get funded, get discovered, and connect with the people and studios shaping the industry. That only works if the community feels safe, credible, and professional. These Guidelines exist to protect that.

2. Core Principles

Everyone on Levelge is expected to:

  • Be honest about who you are and what you represent;
  • Treat others with professional courtesy, even in disagreement;
  • Respect confidentiality and intellectual property;
  • Contribute content that adds genuine value to the community;
  • Follow applicable laws, including employment and anti-discrimination law, when posting job opportunities.

3. Prohibited Conduct

Harassment and Abuse

  • Threats, intimidation, or targeted harassment of any user;
  • Sustained or repeated unwanted contact after being asked to stop;
  • Sexual harassment or unwelcome advances;
  • Encouraging others to harass or pile on a user.

Hateful or Discriminatory Content

  • Content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or veteran status;
  • Slurs, stereotypes, or dehumanizing language directed at any group.

Deception and Misrepresentation

  • Fake accounts, impersonation of another person, studio, or company;
  • Misrepresenting your job title, employer, credentials, or affiliation;
  • Fabricated or exaggerated project credits or portfolio work;
  • Fraudulent or non-existent job postings, or postings designed to harvest personal information rather than fill a real role.

Spam and Platform Abuse

  • Unsolicited bulk messaging or repetitive self-promotion;
  • Scraping profile or organization data;
  • Use of bots or automation without Levelge's written permission;
  • Manipulating engagement (fake likes, follows, endorsements, or reviews).

Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

  • Posting another party's copyrighted or proprietary material without the right to use it;
  • Sharing unreleased game footage, builds, or assets without authorization from the rights holder;
  • Disclosing information you are bound by an NDA, employment agreement, or other confidentiality obligation not to share — including unannounced titles, internal studio data, or details of layoffs and reorganizations you learned about in a professional capacity.

Malicious or Unsafe Content

  • Malware, phishing links, or other harmful code;
  • Content that facilitates illegal activity;
  • Graphic violence, gore, or content that sexualizes minors, which will be removed immediately and may be reported to law enforcement.

4. Game Industry-Specific Norms

Because Levelge is purpose-built for the games industry, a few norms apply that are specific to how this community operates:

  • No coordinated poaching campaigns. Recruiting individual professionals is a normal and encouraged use of Levelge; organizing mass, targeted solicitation of an entire studio or team — particularly during sensitive periods such as a layoff or unannounced closure — is not.
  • No leaking unannounced titles, NDA-protected builds, or confidential publisher/platform information, even if you believe the information is newsworthy or in the public interest. Use appropriate journalism or whistleblower channels outside Levelge for that.
  • Discussion of crunch culture, layoffs, working conditions, and industry practices is welcome and encouraged as part of healthy professional discourse — but must stay factual and avoid targeted harassment of named individuals.
  • Studio and publisher pages must be created and managed by authorized representatives only, per the Organization Terms; do not create a page purporting to represent a company you do not work for.
  • Credit claims on shipped or in-development titles should be accurate. Misattributing your role on a project undermines trust across the whole hiring and networking ecosystem this Platform is built to support.

5. Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates these Guidelines, you can report it directly from the relevant profile, organization page, post, group, or message using the report option, or by contacting us at support@levelge.com with a description and, where possible, a link or screenshot.

We review reports in the order they are received, prioritizing safety-related reports (harassment, threats, exploitative content). Reporting a user does not notify them that you personally filed the report. Submitting a knowingly false report is itself a violation of these Guidelines.

6. Enforcement

Levelge generally uses a graduated enforcement approach, though the specific response depends on the severity, intent, and impact of the violation:

  • Warning: A notice explaining the violation and what to change, typically for first-time or lower-severity issues.
  • Temporary restriction: Limits on specific features (e.g., messaging, posting, commenting) for a defined period.
  • Suspension: Temporary loss of account access.
  • Permanent ban: Permanent removal from the Platform for severe, repeated, or malicious violations.

Severe violations — including threats of violence, sexual exploitation of minors, doxxing, or malicious code — may result in immediate suspension or ban without prior warning, and may be reported to law enforcement where appropriate.

Organization pages found in violation may face content removal, feature restrictions, or removal of the page itself, consistent with the Organization Terms.

7. Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting support@levelge.com with your account information and the reason you believe the action should be reconsidered. We will review appeals in good faith, though we cannot guarantee a specific outcome or timeline, particularly during the current beta period.

8. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines periodically as the Platform and community grow. Material changes will be posted on the Platform, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
