Privacy Policy

Levelge (“Levelge,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Levelge website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

This Privacy Policy applies to all Levelge users worldwide. Section 12 (“Region-Specific Rights”) describes additional rights available to users in the EU/UK, California, and other jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. Where required by law (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on the legal bases described in Section 4 rather than on consent alone.

Levelge is currently offered as a free, early-stage beta with no paid features. As the Platform evolves, our data practices, infrastructure, and this Policy may change, and we will update this Policy accordingly.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Sharing Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Payment processors, if and when we introduce paid features
  • Cloud hosting providers
  • Analytics providers
  • Law enforcement, regulators, or courts when legally required
  • Business successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Some analytics and advertising integrations may constitute “sharing” or “selling” under certain state laws (e.g., the CCPA/CPRA), even though no money changes hands. See Section 12 for your opt-out rights.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information under the following legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the Platform and services you request
  • Legitimate interests: to improve, secure, and personalize the Platform, and to prevent fraud
  • Consent: for optional marketing communications and certain cookies
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable law

You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

5. Public Information

Information you choose to make public — including your profile, projects, company affiliation, discussion posts, comments, and organization pages — may be visible to other users or the public. You control many privacy settings within your account.

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in
  • Remember preferences
  • Measure Platform performance
  • Improve user experience
  • Support analytics and, where applicable, advertising

You may disable cookies through your browser, though some features may not function properly. Where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

7. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

As an early-stage beta, our security practices and infrastructure are still being actively developed and hardened. We encourage users to avoid submitting highly sensitive information beyond what the Platform requests.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. As general guidance:

  • Account and profile data: retained until you delete your account, plus up to 30 days for backup purposes
  • Messages and posts: retained until deleted by you or until account deletion
  • Payment records: retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically up to 7 years)
  • Usage and log data: typically retained for up to 24 months

We may retain information longer where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

As an early beta, our retention practices and underlying infrastructure are still evolving, and we will update this section as our practices stabilize.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Request a copy of your data (data portability)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where applicable

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@levelge.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (e.g., 30 days under GDPR, 45 days under CCPA). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

10. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@levelge.com.

11. International Users

Levelge is based in the United States, and your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your information.

12. Region-Specific Rights

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not discriminate against users who exercise these rights. To opt out, contact us at privacy@levelge.com or use in-platform privacy controls where available.

EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

In addition to the rights listed in Section 9, EU/UK residents have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Platform or email prior to the change becoming effective. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
